The hornby Thomas isn’t rare, the rare one is has the open mouth smile , very few were made
Can't you compare your latest thomas to one of your older Thomas models to see?
I'm not sure what to make of Thomas running a bit jerkily in reverse, but I think I have a solution. Run him forwards a bit too fast, for about two or three full laps. After the third lap, try gradually slowing him down and he should move more smoothly. Try him in reverse again, a bit too fast for two or three full laps. Repeat the process and he should move more smoothly in reverse. Joem is very handsome. I wouldn't be too surprised if he managed to haul a short goods train or something, on Sat. 6th July, which is only a few days away. I'm looking forward to my 42nd birthday.
Good on you Hornby, been around forever and still can't make a decent loco
The guy pointing sez buy a loco that doesn't run like shit
Its well turned out that Jinty
Great seeing you again pal. 'O' was well chuffed to see you again. Thanks again dude!
Joem was in the BBC railway children adapation (1968), the covered wagon is for china Clay.
Does that say cavaliers on the bottom of the j72 box, if it is that was from my grandpas or model shop from St Albans
Bet you loved meeting the real Jamie the Jinty. What's not to love about my favourite LMS tank engine?
Great video 👍
Looking good pal! 'O' can't wait to see thomas running round on this layout. Going to see the jinty at butterley tomorrow btw dude. Take care mate
You absolute legend. I knew you would be going. I was going to get in touch with you to ask if you wanted to meet up there.
I think it looks better using cork to lift the track to create the ballast shoulder.
My Biggest regret is……in may 2021 laying Hornby track when peco code 75 concrete was available!!!!! oo gauge peco code 75 concrete a must have on all oo gauge layouts!!!!!!! Expensive but so worth it
I've always used hornby track. All the train sets, expansion packs and etc. I know the peco points would be much better than hornby ones but I'm committed at this point
@@ThunderbirdXpeco code 75 concrete points are something else n you’ll probably be gutted ya didn’t convert to peco code 75 concrete in years to come, all a know is code 75 is the most realistic model track going in oo gauge n most UA-camrs have converted to code 75 track in oo gauge
5:16 maybe you could add a tiny little duck pond? Or another siding?
I think I've hit the limit on the amount of track I want on the baseboard. While it would fill out the space, it would mean adding in a point, laying the underlay and track and ballasting to blend it in
I understand, thanks for replying to my idea by the way! I hope the next stage of your layout will go amazingly.
Boy do i remember the derailments. Fingers crossed there’s no more of that with this layout! My layout is a big sweeping loop in my garden so I’m very used too derailments unfortunately 😂
I can't see any mistakes with your new railway. That big open space at the back. Make it a picnic area with portaloos, so visitors can enjoy a picnic lunch while watching trains go by. Have a griddle bar stand nearby, so they can also enjoy bacon and egg baps or a full English Breakfast, served all day, or mini one. Hope I'm being helpful enough here, my sweetheart.
Which big open space at the back do you mean? Are you talking about the bit above the tunnel?
@@ThunderbirdX No, I mean at the other end where the green is.
Do you mean with the short length of track that's not connected to the main layout or next to the shed yard?
@@ThunderbirdX I mean the area behind the curved platform, which you painted green.
Looking really good mate -Alfie
Layouts looking great so far!
This is very much not how to ballast , the ballast never goes down first, as it’ll end up with an uneven track
I take it this is the first video of mine you've watched. I've learnt how to ballast properly since then
It sounds very noisy.
That's why I've removed the motor and intend to hand power it
HSTs don’t belong on heratuge railways , I totally agree on that . There’s nothing special about them😂
I have 4 of these A te1a A sr1a A sw1 And a mm1 £120 was way to much for that 😂, I paid £100 for mine and it had everything including the original box , that aside she is lovely, and I hope your all keeping well Alfie :) It’s burgundy because it was custom painted , the rare ones are a short boiler blue one with Pickford branding on it
Very cool looking steam engine 😎 You’re a brave soul, I would manage to blow it up somehow 😱🚒 The gel fuel is a cool feature. A lot less messy than the carbon style fuel 🚂
Very nice. I prefer steam engines that run on rails. I have got a new birthday surprise for you up my sleeves, which you will see in November (hope you won't mind it being one month late). Thomas and Kelly on your railway will love watching it with you. The title of the surprise is Day Out With Thomas, don't ask me to tell you any more. That would be telling. Kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss. I love you very much. Don't let the silly trucks ruin Thomas' day.
I don't need to know anymore. I spent most of my childhood at Days out with Thomas
The video & narration is very nice.... but there is/ was a problem : Throughout this video It was sideways and the videos upside down. 😳
I am aware. I didn't realise unti i published the video
Nice. 👍🛤️🛤️🛤️🛤️🚂🚃
Very nice. I know it's a few weeks away, but my birthday falls on the first Saturday, July 6th. I will be 42-years-old. My 06 shunter counterpart is younger than me, I'm sure. You gave me a pair of wagons last year, so I hope I'll get something different this year. Thought I'd give you the heads-up. Of course, now comes the hard part. What sort of railway video would you show to a 42-year-old lady? In any case, I'll just say this: surprise me.
Thank you for the heads up Kelly. I'll be sure to do something special
It's helped, but I'm having a different issue, the baring behind the golden gear works loose and if not pushed in will eventually cause a short circuit
While I agree Mr. HST should be running on the main line, most of the HSTs have been withdrawn and sent to Mexico. A few HSTs have resorted to running on preserved railways, in order to keep their railway history alive. If some of the HSTs hadn't been taken under the care of preserved railways, we would have lost this iconic piece of railway history forever. Also, don't go saying you don't like Mr. HST, because he's as useful as the steam engines that came before him. I have an affectionate soft spot for him, and would be devastated if he were to disappear from the railway scene for good.
I'm allowed to dislike engines. While I don't like the way the HST looks, the interior was lovely. Especially in first class
Quite a few retailers breaking up these sets now to sell the loco and coaches seperately...
Nice track
Nice train
Huh, I’m in this video. Twice!
How long is your baseboard thanks
8 foot by 4 foot. Or 2440 by 1220
Hornby did a really nice job on the details and finish 👍🚂
Nice looking and running coaches 👍🚂
Diesel shunters aren't meant to be pocket rockets, lol.
It isn't a pocket rocket unlike my 00 diesel
Nice. Just remember to take the train slowly over the points in both directions. Derailments are kept to a minimum. Don't forget you have some 00 gauge requests left over. Oh, can you run Sir Nigel Gresley again with the Mk. 1 Blood & Custard coaches? I've seen the real engine in the flesh at last at Chester, with the Steam Dreams Railtour (Blood & Custard Mk. 1 coaches). Watch out for my video of her and something else I got up to.
Very nice.
Why oh why have you gotten TT 120 . It’s a big waste of time
I wanted to try it. Seeing Sam review the products which let's face it are better in performance and detail than most modern 00 locos
@@ThunderbirdX I am loving TT 120 so far, which is bad for my wallet I guess.
In all honesty, I paid less for what you see here than getting a proper TT train set from hornby
A modern hornby or Bachmann 08 will be better in every aspect. I wudnt bother if ur already invested in oo. It'll be yrs until u can get every loco u want in tt and that's if they don't give up on it prematurely.
I've already decided against getting into tt for that reason and plan to sell what I've already bought
I'm speechless with the whole set up?
Are you getting a duchss when they come out
I'm only planning on having a j50, an a4, the flying Scotsman and class 66
The Gospel Train is coming, I hear it close at hand, I hear the wheels a-rumbling and rolling through the land. Get on board, little children, There's room for many more. I hear the bell and whistle (toot, toot) coming round the curve, She's playing all her steam and power and straining every nerve. The fare is cheap and all can go, the rich and poor are there, No second class aboard this train, no difference in our fare. This is a Gospel Song from the 1960s. I showed the lyrics because, whenever I play it on my music deck, I can see my Grandfather Sidney and Grandmother Olwen dancing happily in the clouds. They love the music.
Very nice.
There are two new videos on my channel. One is the Sam's Trains storybook, and the other is me playing trains and Thomas the Tank Engine clips. They're right up your alley.
I have seen them
@@ThunderbirdX Hope you enjoyed watching them. Why not try writing your own Word Document stories? It'll help you think of new model railway scenarios.
Never mind all the chit-chat, lol. Let's just get to the action.
Dude! We had a brilliant time too! "O" keeps asking to go again. Pleasure meeting you and thanks again for hanging out with me and my family! All the best pal
Thank you for letting me spend the day with all of you. Really enjoyed it. All the best for your and your fam.
It was blast man, ever free again just let me know, peak rail maybe. "O" took a shining to you bigtime, just sat and watched all the videos with me haha thanks again! @@ThunderbirdX
I'm free pretty much every weekend
@@ThunderbirdX soon as I'm free we'll sort something out dude 👍
Nice Flying Scotsman, havnt got the Scotsman in my collection so far ,but if i do get one ? Would like this BR Green version you have , Oh don't start singing 🎶 that Black lace song 😂 as brings back horrible memories ! Lol 😂 Great video.
Hi, great review of a great loco, are those Pullman coaches from the Railroad range?
I don't know. There was no lid or catalogue code
